Christina LaRocca is a native Brooklynite with soul, and set of pipes. She has been called a soul stirring diva, a contemplative songwriter, a booking agent with good taste & talented friends, & all around cool chick. Christina & her band Heavy Weather have performed at NYC venues such as Southpaw, Rockwood Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, CBGB’s, and has toured the West Coat as well as New England & London. They have also been featured at the Wave Gathering Festival, Rock the Harbor & regularly play The Bitter End. You should definitely get your ass to one of the events she books as well. She co-produces & books high profile shows such as the Artist Loft Series at Tainted Blue Studios, but she also chills with up & coming & touring bands at her showcase every 2nd and last Wednesday at Wicked Willy’s on Bleecker Street in nyc. She loves her band but you can also find her solo, swooning the crowd with her Rainsong. Sometimes she even likes to play bass with friends Belt. Vocally, she sounds like Billie Holiday stuffed inside Fiona Apple’s heart while singing Amy Winehouse and Bob Marley tunes. She does not like pretentious people, when her socks are wet, or mint chocolate chip. One of Christina’s proudest accomplishments was winning the “Free Spirit” award from the WC Choir Tour of 2006. You can catch her kick super hip band Heavy Weather at www.myspace.com/theheavyweatherband. I also suggest you download their millennium shattering album, “Miles of Mud”, released 2008.
