- GOTHAM ROCKS is a New York City-based modern rock showcase that is set to feature the best local NYC bands as well as some amazing and as-of-yet under the radar independent touring bands from all over the Northeast and Mid atlantic regions.
The goals of GOTHAM ROCKS are:
*To provide music fans with an organized full night of the best music entertainment NY has to offer.
*To pair music companies, bookers, promoters, radio, labels etc with the absolute best in independent local and regional bands.
*To give regional modern rock bands that are ready to make the transition from regional to national- the support and exposure to help them with that transistion and for NYC rock bands who are ready to make the transition from local to regional the opportunity to meet and team up with bands from other parts of the country.
*To foster and coalesce the growth of the modern and hard rock scene in NYC – a town that is more known for its hipster and indie rock and hip hop and yet has a thriving (if unorganized) hard rock scene.
*To provide all of the bands with a quality forum for them to showcase their talents to both fans and industry simultaneously. Creating opportunities for both independent bands and the companies, venues, labels etc that work with them.

I am a fan of rock & metal, what's so special about Gotham Rocks anyway?
We're glad you asked. We handpick every act that we have at our showcase. Between us and our network of booking agents, we have seen every band live beforehand, so we know that they can deliver a great live show. Because our showcases don't happen so often, we are able to keep strong bands on all the time. Also, since we are genre specific, you won't have the problem of going to check out one band, and the band right after is a bluegrass band.
I represent a company that wants to reach modern rock bands and their fans, why should I choose to partner with Gotham Rocks?
Excellent question. One of our main goals is to introduce everyone involved with modern rock to each other. Whether it be a band, a company or a fan, everyone stands to benefit from working together. We are in a unique position to offer fans up-and-coming music and the excitement that comes with it. You stand to benefit from this when you partner with us. Some quick facts:
* Over 60 New York City Gotham Rocks shows and showcases in ’09 with approximately 150 bands booked and over 8,000 fans in long-lasting, immersive concert experiences.
* Regional showcases in Long Island, NJ, MA, PA, RI including all-ages shows at Six Flags, Great Adventure in NJ engaging thousands of rock music fans and making real-world impressions on tens of thousands of people.
* Terrestrial and internet radio features, plugs, interviews and commercials.
* Websites and web content— social networking, podcasts, videos, blogs and ads.
* Free, promotional Compilation CDs -Street Teaming-- distributing CDs, flyers and posters.
* Television ads and shows.
* Word of mouth promotion from participating Gotham Rocks Showcase bands, music industry and hardcore fans.
I am in a band, why would I play Gotham Rocks?
This one is our favorite. You are guaranteed to get exposure to industry such as booking agents, magazines, radio stations, instrument manufacturers, marketing companies, producers and studios. Almost every band that plays our showcases walks away with an endorsement, new instrument, media placement, marketing package or all of the above. Gotham Rocks is simply the best way to network with other bands playing the same genre of music and that are just as hungry as you to grow. This creates touring opportunities and an otherwise great time.
