Post punk: the kind of bleak bass-driven songs. Cf. Joy Division, Interpol, The Editors
Shoegaze: the fuzzy wall of sound, the ethereal/reverb-drenched vocals. Cf. My Bloody Valentine, A Place to Bury Strangers, Blonde Redhead, some Jesus and Mary Chain
Psychedelic: wah pedals, reverb, tremolo, fuzz: Spacemen3, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Angels, Loop
Metal: the ultra fuzzy/downtuned guitars, the anthemic drums. Cf. Jesu, Type o Negative, Alcest

You must be in Brooklyn or Manhattan. Experience working with electronic pads a plus.
